MAASC Goals

The MAASC strives to achieve our goals through the following:

  • Advocating for independent providers of ambulatory surgery with the general public, governmental agencies, and other health care organizations seeking information and guidance on ASCs.
  • Educating/Government relations, including effective representation and advocacy on legislative and regulatory issues before the Massachusetts Legislature, state and federal agencies, and Congress.
  • Marketing and public relations for our members.
  • Providing regular meetings of the Association to discuss matters of mutual interest including risk management, quality assurance, and accreditation in free-standing facilities.
  • Supporting the development and implementation of new technology and procedures which have an application in ASCs.
  • Networking opportunities and access to other ASC professionals on regulatory, reimbursement, clinical, marketing, employment and other issues.
  • MAASC quarterly newsletter and member alerts as needed. A non-profit organization, MAASC is supported by member dues and governed by a four person Executive Board. MAASC members are affiliated with the Federated Ambulatory Surgery Association (FASA) and the American Association of Ambulatory Surgery Centers (AAASC) in Washington, D.C., the nation’s leading organizations of ambulatory surgical centers.
